Our Story
"The "ES" name for the company came about as a way to honor my father, Ernie Standish. He taught me a lot of what I know about construction and all of what I know about integrity, hard work, honesty and caring about the quality of the job you do for your clients. My father was an inspiration, working long hard hours running his excavation and construction business. All to provide for his family, which included five growing boys. We were all there to help him along the way, and learn from him, from early ages. For myself, it was constant lessons, not on how to get a job done, but how to do it the right way, the best way possible, so that the work would last the test of time. And, to be a man of your word, even if you use few of them - the quality of your work can speak for itself. I'm grateful for the time I had with my father, and the knowledge he instilled in me. I continue to practice this every day with my business, and teach my employees what I learned from my dad."

Mathew Standish, President
Mathew has over 30 years of construction experience, including over 20 years of general contracting management. He has managed over $180 million of commercial, single family, and multi-family real estate developments. He is an ICBO certified General Contractor. He grew up working for his father's business from a very early age - performing all activities for Standish Excavation & Construction - excavations, concrete, masonry, framing, roofing, drywall and more. Mathew earned his BA in Industrial Technology from William Penn University and was a defensive football player and a member of Sigma Phi Sigma fraternity. He spends his free time with photography, golfing and scuba diving.
